There are many dangerous sports in the world, but saying American football is one of the most dangerous sport is not exaggerating at all. Any professional player must accept a career risk because of the injury it causes.
American football players hardly avoid a broken hand dangling from their shoulders, breaking their fingers and toes, dislocating their ankles or shoulders, etc. Some injuries can affect their health for the rest of their lives, some can be deep in the brain that will only develop 15-20 years later, which may paralyze the body of the player. Foolish, but it is American football!
American football is one of the most popular team sports. This game is closely related to Canadian rugby but there are some differences in game rules. In the US, some of the main forms of rugby are high school rugby, college football and professional rugby, essentially the same but different at some points in the rules of the game.
Rugby comes from high schools and universities in the United States. The first match of this game is said to take place on November 6, 1869, between the two college teams Rutgers and Princeton. The game was under the rules of primitive American football that players can only throw the ball without running with it.
By the 1870s, universities began to apply new rules for American football, which allowed players to run balls. By 1880, Walter Camp – who was considered the father of American football – wrote the standard rule of modern football in America today.
American football, somehow, is rather dangerous that even US President Barack Obama expressed concern about its violence. He once said that if he had a son, he would have to think “very carefully and for a long time” before allowing him to take part in this kind of physical education.
